Everything is just buzzing about that earthquake this afternoon...it really wasnt too big a deal I guess- at first I just thought it was a train passing by and that was why the building was shaking. We were at a meeting with some other consultants in Reston, VA at our client site- on the 8th floor of a high-rise, no less. Anyway, one of the other members of the team used to live in California and he jumped up and scrambled under the huge conference table and yelled at us all to get down. Several of us did (including myself) but again, the shaking was so slight that most of the team just stood there looking out the windows to see if they could see what was going on...the tremors were not that fierce, but they did last a surprisingly long time. They lasted just over a minute for us. Then we all got up and joined the mass evacuation down the stairs. One guy (not in our team) headed to the elevator and when someone yelled at him to use the stairs he got really annoyed and proceeded to gripe about it the whole way down to the ground level. Haha- what a moron!
Anyway, the scariest thing was before it was confirmed that it was an earthquake. One of the women in our team lives near the Pentagon and said that the shakes reminded her of 9-11 and she made us all consider the possibility of a terrorist attack. However, I do not believe that a terrorist would want to destroy the building where we work... So yeah, end of story. Then we went home afterwards because the government got let out from work early and everyone else was going home too. As expected, it took us about 1.5 hours to get back to Alexandria because of the dreadful traffic. Whew. How exciting!

Friday, Friday
Well, tomorrow is Friday. Right now it's Thursday. And the law of tautology, well, it happens to be the law of tautology.
Good things about today:
1) I am eating hotdogs right now
2) One of the VPs bought us lunch. We went to an Asian restaurant and I got a Bento box which had a combination of Chicken Teriyaki, White rice, a salad, and california roll. It has been approximately 8 months since I last had sushi!
Bad things about today:
1) SO MUCH WORK! Got to work at 7:20am, left work at 7:30pm. Got home and worked some more! I have to quit now though because I forgot to e-mail myself the other files I needed to work on. As my coworker would say, "Bill those hours!" :(
2) Tomorrow I was hoping to leave work early, and I probably still will, but it's going to be insane finishing stuff up. I'll probably try to get to work just after 7am again.
I am:
- Doing laundry
- Making sure the dog doesnt try to nab my hotdogs
- Watching Arrested Development (I can't think what I'd do without these episodes in my life)
- Cleaning my room/packing for home this weekend, maybe throwing in a few lunges and situps
Countdown (at random): 16

So today...
Work is really blowing up right now...I probably should've stayed at work until 8pm or so, but I had church so I left at 7:15pm. Anyway, I'll have to get in early tomorrow morning to finish some stuff. I was really hoping to leave early on Friday, but given the work load, I may not be able to leave until the later afternoon. Sad day.
Countdown: 40
I need to go grocery shopping desperately. Tomorrow, maybe?

Another day
What did I do today?
Well, work got a little wild and required my uttermost concentration for most of the day. I got put on a new project (but with the same client) and have been tasked with completing 5-6 process flows by Friday. Oh boy.
After work I went on visitation inviting little kids who come to church on the bus route to come to the Saturday Sunday School picnic, it's supposed to involve lots of water sports, so most kids were very enthused. Nearly all the conversations were in Spanish so I learned some key phrases- I think I'd like to take a conversational Spanish class soon...maybe I will do Rosetta Stone...I am impressed with their program anyway.
What else am I doing tonight? For my sanity level, I have a list below (if I type it out, I'm more likely to do it)
1) Sit-ups (4x25 two sets)
2) Listening to very interesting video about Ron Paul-
3) Put laundry away
4) E-mail(s)
5) Glorious Sleep
Oh, I almost forgot. Countdown: 61

today....
Today is going to be an advil-kind-of day.
Aaaaaaaaannnnnnnnndddddddd it's OFF to work I go. Right now I just want to make it to Friday when I will be taking at least half the day off to go home and prepare food for my sister's bridal shower. I really need some chocolate milk right now and maybe some hotdogs, too.
